Painter held with ganja

JAMMU, June 11: Nehru Market police today nabbed a painter along with 3.5 kilograms of ganja near Bikram Chowk.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Nehru Market police post laid a naka near Bikram Chowk and intercepted a person carrying bag on suspicious grounds.
On seeing the police team, the man tried to escape, but was chased by the active cops of Nehru Market police post and nabbed.
During checking, police recovered 3.5 kilograms of ganja from the bag and arrested the accused, who is painter by profession.
The accused has been identified as Om Parkash, son of Sham Lal Suri of Chhattisgarh, at present Indra Colony, Janipur.
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police post Nehru Market and investigation started.
Police team led by incharge police post Nehru Market PSI Sumit Magotra made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar police station Inspector Paramjeet Singh, SP South Sachin Gupta and Incharge SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
