Only Cong can stop RSS agenda: Mir

SRINAGAR, June 12: Pradesh Congress Committee president GA Mir has said that Congress party can only stop the BJP to implement RSS agenda both in the State and Centre, as this party has always worked for maintaining secular fabric of the country at all levels.
Addressing Mahila Congress convention at party headquarters here today Mr Mir said Congress always wanted that all the people of the State and country should progress and become prosperous. He said Congress party has always taken care of every section of society irrespective of caste, colour and creed and worked for the upliftment of  women. It is the Congress which gave the women of country every right, knowing that women play a pivotal role in nation building.
Mir termed women folk an inspiration for all and said that the women have a greater role in our lives and the society. They must get the respect and care they deserve. They also have a greater role in development of the country and must not forget that India being largest democracy has given the women a unique space in the society.
The PCC chief said that it is  the Congress Party which worked hard to grant 33 percent reservation to women and succeeded in this mission. Congress Party has all respects for the women and will do everything to keep their esteem high because strong women means strong country.
Speaking on the occasion Shoba Ojha, president Mahila wing of All India Congress Committee expressed satisfaction and said that Congress is vibrant in the State. She said it gives her immense pleasure to see that Mahila Congress is also more strong. She exhorted the Mahila Congress workers to remain steadfast in serving the Congress Party to the best of their ability.
Immediately after the convention Mahila Congress activists demonstrated against  the failure of PDP- BJP Coalition Govt in rehabilitating  flood affected people. They strongly protested against Govt apathy and sought answers from the PDP- BJP coalition which has failed on all fronts.
