Intra-state narco smuggler held with heroine worth Rs 2.5 crore

RAMBAN, June 12: Khari police nabbed intra-state narcotic smuggler along with 500 grams of heroine valuing Rs 2.5 crore in the international market.
As per police sources, on specific information about smuggling of narcotic substances, police team from Khari police post laid a naka at Mandakbas and intercepted a pedestrian on suspicious grounds.
On seeing police party, the man tried to escape but was chased by the active cops of Khari police post and nabbed.
During checking, police recovered 500 grams of heroine valuing Rs 2.5 crore in the international market and arrested the intra-state narcotic smuggler.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Shafi, son of Ghulam Qadir Naik, a resident of Mandakbas, Khari.
A case under FIR Number 86/15 under Section 8/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Banihal and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge police post Khari SI Shakeel Ahmed Manhas made the arrest under the supervision of SHO police station Banihal Inspector Tariq Hussain, SDPO Banihal Mohammad Rafiq and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
