Jawan, VDC member hurt in accidental fires

MENDHAR/RAJOURI, June 12: An Army jawan was injured when his service weapon went off accidentally in forward area of Mankote today while a VDC member was injured in yet another similar incident near Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that Sepoy Gurpreet Singh received bullet injuries on his hand when two bullets went off from his service rifle- Insas while cleaning it at Sonawali Gali post in Mandher area. He was shifted to local Army hospital and later to the Military Hospital, Rajouri.
VDC member Sukhdev Singh, son of Jagdev Singh, resident of Narsingpura near Rajouri, was injuries when his gun fell down last night. The villager was carrying loaded gun on his shoulder and got slipped while walking in the darkness at village. He sustained bullet injury on his shoulder. He was admitted to Rajouri hospital.
