SRINAGAR, June 15: Security forces today busted a militant hideout and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from Khrew area of Pulwama district.
Police said that based upon a specific input about the presence of militants, police and Army’s 50 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) raided Baddalo forest area. Militants managed to escape but police busted their hideout.
Police said that the recovery includes an AK 47 rifle, five grenades, five magazines, seven UBGL grenades, 127 rounds of AK ammunition and two detonators. “Other recoveries include a mattress and two blankets,” he said.
Another militant hideout was busted at Yarbal forests in Pulwama district this evening.
A joint operation was conducted by the troops of 44 RR and Jammu and Kashmir Police this evening after a tip off. They busted a militant hideout and recovered one AK-56 rifle, two hand grenades, one radio set, three AK-56 magazines and two magazines of SLR rifle, blankets, cooking utensils and ration.
