Saffron agenda being implemented in J&K: Omar

SRINAGAR:
Alleging that Saffron agenda was being implemented in Jammu and Kashmir, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said ‘Ikhwani’, surrendered militants working with security forces, were being reactivated following reported statement by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar that ‘Militants will be used to kill militants’ in the State.
He said the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) announced by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to have reached with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for governance was nothing but a ‘pack of lies.
The coalition between PDP and BJP has proved very costly to the people of the State as the Government has failed on all fronts, working president of the opposition National Conference (NC) said while day-long delegate convention at Kupwara in the north Kashmir today.
Mr Abdullah said there was no CMP agreement between the two parties and PDP only mislead the people to grab the power without considering its consequence. He said from the statement of Mr Parrikar about reviving Ikhwanis and announced by the Centre that no power projects will be handed over to Jammu and Kashmir has exposed the PDP claim that there was any CMP on these and other issues.
