SRINAGAR, June 16: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Mohammad Khursheed Alam today flagged off cross country race which was organized by the Government Girls Higher Secondary School Nowhatta Srinagar.
The race started from Duck Park to Nishat Garden in which a large number of students participated.
Interacting with the participants, MLC said that organizing of such events give platform to the students to show their hidden talent. He said talent is present among the students of the State but need is to channelize it in a proper way so that they can compete at national and State level championships.
He asked the Principal of the school and organizers to manage similar events in other education institutions.
Director School Education Kashmir who was the guest of honour on the occasion said that organizing of such events provide ample opportunity to the students to show their talent.
Later, Alam distributed prizes among the meritorious participants. Yasmeen of Class 10th claimed first position whileas Yasmeen and Bisma of Class 11th secured second and third positions respectively.
