Bhupinder lifts 85th Ramkote Kesari Dangal title

JAMMU, June 20: Wrestler Bhupinder from Haryana defeated Devinder of Almgir Akhara, Punjab and lifted title of 85th Ramkote Kesari Dangal, organised by the Dangal Committee Ramkote at Ramkote, district Kathua.
The title bout between these two wrestlers remained undecided even after 25 minutes long contest and the bout was decided in 5 minute extra time on point basis.
On the occasion, MLA Bani Jeevan Lal was the chief guest, who presented cash award of Rs 45,000 to winner in presence of Tehsildar Ramkote, SHO Ramkote, Madan Gopal, Chairman of the committee, Rajesh Gupta, President and Vinay Gupta, Vice President.
A total of 75 bouts were played in the day-long Dangal, which were witnessed by thousands of spectators and sports lovers.
The second bout was played between Sunny of Lilan and Amit of Delhi, in which latter emerged winner and got Rs 21,000 cash prize, whileas Sunny was presented with cash prize of Rs 15,000.
The third and fourth main bouts remained undecided and therefore were shared by Sukha of Rajasthan and Lali of Garh Shankar and Sukh of Garh Shanker and Kala of Dina Nagar, respectively. The fifth bout between Fiza of Billawar and Gunga of Lilan was won by latter, whereas, sixth bout remained undecided between Narinder of Ajnala and Buta of Almgir. Bittu of Delhi beat Ramesh of Haryana in seventh bout.
On the occasion, wrestler Shiva of Dina Nagar, Inayat of Manwal and Sanju of Banaras mesmerized the public with their outstanding and unique skills.
Members of Organising Committee and technical officials who helped in smooth conduct of Dangal were Sarpanch Budhi Singh, Vijay Gupta, Sardanand Deonia, Om Parkash, Kaka Kharka, Rajinder Dogra,Vinod Spolia, Dr Sat Paul and Sardari Lal.
