JAMMU, June 23: The technocrats of IECS Polytechnic College have made a new ‘Go Kart’ car that fits in the budget of a layman.
The 6th semester students of Mechanical Engineering of college have formulated the idea of making this innovative car.
The estimated cost of the car is approximately Rs 20,000 only. The car has been modified from the old four stroke 156 CC motorcycle engine and having 12.4 NM@6500 rpm torque.
The students involved in this novel project are Amit Gupta, Suraj Parkash, Dinesh Sagotra, Mujeeb-Ur-Rehman, Rahil Sambyal, Aman Sharma, Shubam Sharma and Aniket Mahajan.
This project has been invented as a Go-Kart, which would be used for tourists at various suitable locations.
The unique thing in new Go Kart is that it has five gear shifts and five reverse gears, which make it more adventurous for sports and fun purpose.
About the project, group leader Amit Gupta, said that it took the team around 25 days to come up with the car.
He informed that it’s a single seat car and chassis was made with stainless steel, which can carry a weight of 150 kilogram.
Member of the group Dinesh Sagotra, said, “We are extremely fortunate to have got this all along the completion of our project work”.
“Success and final outcome of this project required a lot of guidance and assistance from many people including HoD Mechanical Engineering Department, HN Bhat and family members for their emotional and financial support”, Dinesh added.
