Your editorial Dt 7/6/2015 Why not Duggar Channel is very thought provoking and caters to Dogri language which stands recognized in VIII th schedule in the Constitution. Jammu region is multi- linguistic region with different traditions, customs, folklore, festivities and has lot to make India proud. That apart, we are very closely knit to Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab;Himachal Pradesh besides Mirpur, Kotli, Bhimber: Part of Poonch under illegal possession of Pakistan. Doordarshan has a goal to achieve maximum coverage, the grounds reffered to in the editorial are suggestive and also the voice of the people of Jammu region. Proportionately we can cover more area wise with specific programs in their respective languages.
DDK Jammu is only Kendra functional here for three to four hours.
Doordarshan approved Drama Artist Association has already approached Director General, Doordarshan (Prasar Bharti) for fulfillment the demand of 24×7 Satellite channel. Being ardent supporter of Dogri, I am writing this so that the massage will go to all Dogri lovers and the Knowledge Bank opened by you is understood and followed vigorously.
