TSC, JKCC register wins, qualify for next round

JAMMU, June 24: Tawi Sports Club (TSC) and Jatt Kaka Cricket Club (JKCC) registered victories in their respective matches and qualified for next round of the ongoing Ist Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Gold Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament, being played at Cantt Ground, Satwari here.
In the first match, Tawi Sports Club (TSC) registered 62 runs win over Young XI Cricket Club and entered into next stage.
Batting first, Tawi Sports scored 158 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Raghav smashed some crispy shots and scored 51 runs, whereas Sandeep made 36 runs.
For Young XI side, Rajan and Bakshi scalped one wicket each.
In reply, Young XI failed to chase the target and scored 96 runs by losing all wickets in allotted 20 overs. Bakshi was the top scorer with 38 runs.
From Tawi Sports side, Surinder was wrecker-in-chief with 4 wickets, whereas Sahil and Sahit scalped one wicket apiece.
In the second match, Jatt Kaka Cricket Club (JKCC) crushed Star Cricket Club (SCC) by 6 wickets.
Batting first, SCC scored 141 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Kala was top scorer with 38 runs, whileas Raghu contributed with 25 runs.
From JKCC side, Aman scalped 4 wickets and Bansi took 3 wickets.
In reply, JKCC chased the target in 16 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Ashu made 30 runs and Puneet scored 24 runs.
From SCC side, Punjabi and Kala took 2 wickets each.
The matches were officiated by Manu and Chetan as umpires, whereas Surpreet Singh maintained the scoreboard.
The tournament is being organised by Youth National Conference Gandhi Nagar.
