KCC, SCC pound rivals, qualify for next stage

JAMMU, June 26: Khalsa Cricket Club (KCC) and Shastri Cricket Club (SCC) pounded opponents and qualified for next stage of the ongoing Chevrolet Cricket Cup, being played at KC Public School cricket ground here.
The first match of the day was played between JKP Cricket Club and Khalsa Cricket Club (KCC).
Batting first after winning the toss, JKP Cricket Club scored 143 runs in 20 over. Nipun Verma played a magnificent inning of 68 runs, whereas Pankaj Singh contributed with 23 runs.
For KCC side, Amarpreet bowled well and scalped 3 wickets and Abhishek took 2 wickets.
In reply, KCC chased the target in 19 overs and won the match by 3 wickets. Romey scored 38 runs and Harpreet made 31 runs.
For JKP Cricket Club side, Shamsher and Ambrose took 2 wickets each.
Amarpreet of KCC was declared as man of the match.
The second match of the day was played between Shastri Cricket Club (SCC) and Kamal Trader Cricket Club (KTCC).
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, KTCC made 102 runs in 19.2 overs. Navdeep Singh and Jagjot scored 25 and 19 runs respectively.
For SCC side, Vishal Singh was the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets, whereas Amit Sharma took 2 wickets.
In second inning, SCC chased the target in 17 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Bunty and Romy made 20 and 17 runs respectively.
For KTCC side, Jagjot Singh and Sushant took 2 wickets each.
Vishal Singh of SCC was adjudged as man of the match.
Westside coupons worth Rs 500 were presented to the winners of man of the match titles.
