SCC, LCC pound on opponents, sail to next stages

JAMMU, June 27: Shastri Cricket Club (SCC) and Lions Cricket Club (LCC) pounded on opponents in their respective matches and sailed into next stage of the ongoing 3rd Jammu Tawi Summer T-20 Cup, being organized by Jammu Tawi Sports Cricket Club at GGM Science College ground, here today.
The first match of the day was played between Shastri Cricket Club (SCC) and Dhoni Cricket Club (DCC), in which former registered 9 runs win.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, SCC scored a magnificent total of 167 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 20 overs. Avesh Sharma played a superb inning of 88 runs and remained not out, whereas Chander and Dekker contributed with 38 and 19 runs respectively.
From DCC side, Udham and Attu scalped one wicket apiece.
In reply, DCC failed to chase the target and were bundled out at 158 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.
For SCC side, Rompy was the pick of the bowler with 3 wickets, whileas Amit scalped 2 wickers. Avesh and Vicky Raina took 1 wicket each.
Avesh Sharma was declared as man of the match for his all round performance.
In the second match, Lion Star Cricket Club (LSCC) crushed Singh Cricket Club, Akhnoor by 6 wickets and registered berth in the next stage of the tournament.
Batting first after winning the toss, SCC set a target of 177 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Rahul scored magnificent 54 runs, whereas Sumit and Dilawar made 29 and 23 runs respectively.
From LCC side, Vaneet and Rohit scalped 2 wickets each, whereas Gourav claimed 1 wicket.
In the second inning, LCC chased the target in 19.4 overs for the loss of 4 wickets. Rohit played superb inning of 57 runs and remained not out, whileas Dinesh and Gourav contributed with 37 and 25 respectively.
From SCC side, Sham took 3 wickets, whileas Sunny scalped 1 wicket.
Rohit of LCC was declared as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, Sohail Yusuf and Madan Lal.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Tawi Sports Cricket Club will take on Union Cricket Club and JCC will clash with Ever Shine Cricket Club.
