Chana futures remain weak on higher supply

NEW DELHI, June 30:Chana prices fell further by 1.74 per cent to Rs 4,132 per quintal in futures trade today on continued offloading of positions by speculators amidst higher supplies at the spot market from producing belts.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in July fell by Rs 73, or 1.74 per cent to Rs 4,132 per quintal with an open interest of 1,02,960 lots.
Likewise, the commodity for delivery in August contracts eased by Rs 66, or 1.52 per cent to Rs 4,270 per quintal in 1,48,520 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators, driven by higher supplies from producing belts against low spot market demand kept chana prices down at futures trade. (PTI)
