JAMMU, July 2: Vigilance Organization today caught red handed PRC Clerk in the Office of Naib Tehsildar, Arnia, while demanding and accepting bribe.
The accused clerk, identified as Parveen Kumar of Arnia, Jammu, was demanding and accepting bribe from the complainant Shakti Ram Saini for processing the PRC file of the latter’s wife and sons.
The complainant had lodged a written report in Vigilance Organization alleging that the PRC case was pending with accused clerk for the last 5-6 months for which he had already paid Rs 500 as bribe amount. Now, the accused was again demanding Rs 700 more as bribe for processing the file.
On this complaint, a case FIR number .26/2015 under Section 5(1) (d) PC Act 2006 r/w 161 CrPC was registered at Police Station VOJ and investigation taken up. A trap team was constituted and the accused official was caught red handed while accepting the illegal gratification in presence of independent witnesses.
