2 killed, 8 injured in road mishaps

SRINAGAR, July 4:  Two persons including a lady were killed and eight others were injured in different road accidents across the Kashmir valley.
A police spokesman said that the lady identified as Nayeema of Yesbutpora in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district fell from a motorcycle bearing registration number JK01F/7196 near Degree College in the district. She was shifted to District Hospital Kulgam where she succumbed to her injuries, he said.
In another fatal accident, a sumo bearing registration number JK03D-9606 hit and injured a pedestrian identified as Ali Mohammad Hajam resident of Shergund Achabal at Bochan Achabal in Anantnag district, the police spokesman said. The injured was shifted to the Sub District Hospital Shangus where he succumbed to his injured, he said, adding a case has been registered in this regard.
A Maruti Alto 800 bearing registration number JK09-3632 met with an accident near Yali Mode Pethkote of Bandipora district resulting injuries to 5 persons. “All the injured were shifted to Hospital for treatment.”
In Kupwara district, a motorcycle hit and injured a pedestrian Shamsudin Khan near Main Market Trehgam. In this accident, the motorcyclist identified as Showket Ahmed Dar was also injured. Police said both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment and a case has been registered in this regard.
An Innova bearing registration number JK04B/1956 collided with a motorcycle bearing registration numberJK01G/3467 on National Highway at Raizen Gund in Ganderbal district, resulting in injuries to the motorcyclist. “The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment and a case has been registered in this regard,” the police spokesman added.
