Amarnath yatra: 4,550 on-spot registration slots released for July 8

SRINAGAR :  Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) has released unavailed quota of 4,550 for the yatris who have not registered themselves and want to undertake the pilgrimage on July 8.
This on the spot registration will be on first come first serve basis, a spokesman of the SASB said.
He iterated that unregistered yatris will be allowed to undertake the pilgrimage from any track.
He said on the spot registration of intending yatris was being done for those could not secure advance registration. However, it was decided that on spot registration would be  done subject to availability of quota for that very particular date.
For the convenience of intending yatris who could not secure advance registration, the SASB has established on-spot registration facilities in Jammu at Vaishnavi Dham, Saraswati Dham; Jammu Haat; and Geeta Bhavan,  Ram Mandir (for sadhus only) and in Srinagar at Tourist Reception Centre (TRC), Nowgam.
He said the Chief Executive Officer has released 4,550 slots for on-spot registration for July 8 .
He said  4,100 slots were released by the CEO for on-spot registration at various Counters yesterday for the yatra commencing on tomorrow.
For on spot registration, the yatris will have to apply in the prescribed application and furnish a compulsory health certificate, obtained from an authorised doctor.
Yatris have been advised to undertake the yatra on the respective date of Registration to avoid any inconvenience. Yatris who have not yet registered  have been advised to undertake advance registeration which closes eight days prior to date of commencement of yatra.
The CEO advised the yatris to follow the dos and don’ts issued by the Shrine Board during the course of yatra and come well prepared, carrying woolen clothing, raincoat and sports shoes. (AGENCIES)
