LOS ANGELES, July 9: Disney is continuing its slate of live-action fairy tale adaptations with a movie focused on Prince Charming.
There’s no word on whether the prince in question will be related to Snow White or Cinderella as yet, but the script apparently offers a “revisionist take on the fairy tales”, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Matt Fogel has penned the script, alongside David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films, and Tripp Vinson in the producer seats. Alex Young will serve as executive producer.
The idea follows the success of the recent “Cinderella” live-action remake, as well as “Maleficent”.
Richard Madden played Prince Charming in “Cinderella”, while Chris Pine also took the part in “Into the Woods”.
Disney has several other live-action remakes in the pipeline too, including “The Jungle Book”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Dumbo”, “Winnie the Pooh”, “Mulan”, “Pinnochio” and more. (PTI)
