CAPD imposes Rs 12800 fine on defaulters

RAMBAN, July 9:   A special market checking squad of Consumers Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Department besides other agencies conducted market checking in Ramban town to ensure that people get quality edibles with reasonable rates especially during these days of festivity.
The team checked the rates of fruits, vegetables, milk, chicken,  mutton and other eatables besides inspecting the quality of these commodities.
The squad, comprising TSO Ramban, Chamel Singh, Naib Tehsildar, G H Sahmat, SHO Ramban Ajay Singh Chib and officers of different departments, conducted checking of shops and vendors and seized rotten and subsidized food items, vegetables and fruits.
TSO Ramban informed that a total of  Rs.12800 fine was recovered including Rs. 2800 from restaurants, dhabas, vegetable shops, chicken and mutton shops and Rs. 10000 from two defaulter LPG gas agencies both HP and Indian LPG for not providing home delivery facility to people.
