SRINAGAR, July 9: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Chowdhary Lal Singh accompanied by Minister for R&B, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari today flagged off ambulance awareness drive at Traffic Police Department.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, DIG Traffic and SSP Traffic besides other officers of health, civil administration, police and members of Civil Society Forum Kashmir were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Chowdhary Lal Singh said that Government is much keen for providing better patient care services in the State and in this regard a special Ambulance awareness drive has been launched to make people aware about the significance of providing hassle free and smooth movement of ambulances carrying patients on the road. He said when a critical care patient is onboard the driver or any other official should be mandatorily informing the traffic Police Control Room on designated numbers, the traffic police will then devise a route for the ambulance and ensure minimum hassle so that it reaches its destination as soon as possible and timely treatment is provided to the patient.
The Minister said that as many as 50 ambulances fully equipped with modern gadgets including GPS and internet facilities would be placed at different places for the convenience of people. He said pubic cooperation is pivotal for success of this drive to ensure smooth passage for the ambulance on priority so that precious lives are saved.
Syed Altaf Bukhari said Government will provide all support for its implementation so that better healthcare facility is ensured to the needy.
