JAMMU, July 10: On the occasion of AI-Quds Day, a peaceful protest demonstration was held by Shia Muslims here today to express solidarity with people of Palestine, to oppose Zionism and Israel’s oppression on Palestine.
After offering Friday prayers, which were held at Jamia Masjid, Peer Mitha, Jammu, thousands of Shia Muslims held a peaceful protest to impress upon the International community to come forward in a big way to help the people of Palestine.
The protest was held under the banner of Anjuman-e-Imamia, Jammu in collaboration with All Ladakh Muslim Students’ Association, Jammu, Anjuman-e-Haideri, Anjuman-e-Hussaini and other associations of Jammu.
The protestors also took out a peaceful march from Karbala complex to Shahidi Chowk to condemn the atrocities of Israel over the people of Palestine.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Amanat Ali Shah, president, Anjuman-e-Imamia, said that Islam is a religion of peace and harmony and always stood against tyranny of brutal forces like Israel, United States and other like-minded agencies. He emphasized on maintaining a harmony among society and condemned all types of atrocities on innocent humans irrespective of caste, creed and colour throughout the world.
Moulana Ali Badshah Naqvi, Imam Jumma Imamia Masjid, Peer Mitha, said that we stand shoulder to shoulder with the oppressed and against the oppressor. He said we have gathered here to pay homage to the children who have been killed by Israel forces in Palestine and innocent killings done by ISIS in Iraq and Syria.
Mohd Bakir, president, ALMSAJ, said that forces working against humanity and human values, under whatever banner they may be shall need to be condemned by the society having human heart and faith in their religion.
