JAMMU, July 11: In its general body meeting held today at Jhiri, Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association (JKBWA) unanimously elected Romesh Sargotra as new chairman of the Association and also, authorised Ramesh Kumar Kaith to continue as election commissioner.
Besides, the meeting discussed the problems being faced by the educated unemployed youth. The Association appealed the Union Government that Batwal community be granted an ’employment package’ based on the survey report of its ethnographic study undertaken in 1994 by the Planning Commission of India.
The Association also urged State Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh to look into its series of memorandums submitted to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past one year and get the same referred to the concerned departments for taking necessary action in the matters.
