Jatin helps Singh Club to enter final of Summer Cup T20

AKHNOOR, July 11: Jatin Wadhawan’s quick-fire 71 runs off just 50 balls, studded with 6 fours and 4 sixes helped Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor to thrash Eleven Stars Jammu by 5 runs in a rain hit high scoring match to seal berth in the finals of Summer Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at Govt Higher Secondary School ground, here.
Winning the toss and batting first Singh Club scored a mammoth total of 218 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Sunny Mahi and Puneet Kumar contributed 48 and 45 runs respectively, while Chander Kiran added 24 runs to the total. For Eleven Stars Prince and Danny took 2 wickets each.
Eleven stars required 63 runs in first 6 overs after the rain interrupted the match but they managed to score just 57 runs with Parveen Singh, Deepak Dogra and Sahil contributing 12, 13 and 9 runs respectively.  Raman Dutta too 3 wickets. Jatin Wadhawan was declared man of the match.
The match was officiated by Vikas Bali and Narinder as umpires while Shanky was the scorer.
The tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh, president Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor.
