NEW DELHI, July 15: Supported by strong demand in the spot market, cardamom prices surged 0.93 per cent to Rs 825 per kg in futures trade today as traders widened their positions.
Besides, fall in supplies from producing regions fuelled the uptrend.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July rose Rs 7.60, or 0.93 per cent, to Rs 825 per kg in a business turnover of 1 lot.
Analysts said besides the pick-up in demand in the spot market, restricted supplies from growing belts mainly led to the rise in cardamom prices in futures trade. (PTI)
