Cee-Lo Green’s new single pays tribute to Robin Williams

LOS ANGELES, July 18:Singer Cee-Lo Green has released a new single, which is a tribute track to Hollywood funnyman Robin Williams.
Aptly titled “Robin Williams”, the song debuted on Cee-Lo’s website with an interactive video showing the lyrics typed into Google search bars, reported Ace Showbiz.
The new song is Cee-Lo’s first solo single in more than two years.
It is a part of his upcoming fifth studio album “Heart Blanche” which is due out on November 13.
“‘Robin Williams’ is a homage to our humanity. Centered on the strength it takes to smile in the face of adversity,” the singer said in a statement.
The lyrics include, “Oh what a night, oh what a night / tears in my eyes, staring up at the sky in disbelief / I’ve got a voice in my head, voice in my head, that’s what it said / All we really need is comic relief / But I’m afraid of not being able to laugh anymore.”
“We don’t know, what the next man’s going through / Wish I could say it in a plainer way / I said, we don’t know, life reminds me of Robin Williams / We’ve got to laugh the pain away,” it continued.
Cee-Lo goes on mentioning late stars John Belushi, Richard Pryor and Philip Seymour Hoffman, lamenting the loss of “heroes.” (PTI)
