Chandar Singh Sisodia takes oath as member of MP Vidhan Sabha

BHOPAL:Bharatiya Janata Party legislator Chandar Singh Sisodia, who recently won the assembly bypoll from Garoth, today took oath as a member of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly on the first day of the Monsoon session.
Mr Sisodia was administered oath by Speaker Sitasharan Sharma. He defeated his nearest rival Subhash Sojatia of the Congress by a margin of more than 12,000 votes. The by-election in Garoth was necessitated following the demise of sitting member Rajesh Yadav.
In the 230-member house, the ruling BJP has strength of 163 while the opposition Congress has 58 members. The Bahujan Samaj Party has four members while there are three Independents. The Monsoon Session is proposed to continue till July 31 and comprise 10 sittings. Finance Minister Jayant Malaiya is expected to table the First Supplementary Budget for 2015-16 in the House tomorrow. (AGENCIES)
