SAMBA, July 21: A CRPF jawan was killed after the splinters of a mortar shell hit him during the practice at firing bat at Nandni Hill Sector in Samba district today.
He was identified as Constable Rajnesh Pal, 35 of Kawali, Haryana. A jawan of 72 Bn CRPF he was deployed at Channi Himmat.
According to SSP Samba, Joginder Singh, the jawan was carrying flags in the firing range area when the splinters of shell hit him. He was shifted to district hospital Samba for postmortem.
