SRINAGAR, July 25: President Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), Dr Farooq Abdullah, who as per the elections claimed by the other faction of JKCA was dethroned from the president’s post by Minister for Sports, Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari, suspended Joint Secretary JKCA Jammu Wing, Sudershan Mehta and Vice Chairman, Rakesh Kumar with immediate effect in a Working Committee meeting held at Lalit Grand here yesterday.
The meeting, which was chaired by Dr Farooq and attended by 35 Working Committee Members, excluding 14 members from various institutions, after the President’s approval suspended the duo of Joint Secretary and Vice Chairman, Jammu Wing for anti association activities .
Now, to run the affairs of Jammu Wing, a three member Committee was constituted which will be headed by Ankush Abrol, former Ranji Trophy Player with Rohit Malhotra and another former Ranji Trophy player, Ranjit Bali as other members.
Dr. Farooq also gave nod to constitution of disciplinary and constitution committees to be headed by Jung Bahadur Singh Jamwal, senior Working Committee member.
Also a Committee of five members was also framed on the occasion which will tackle the present issue in JKCA with the authorities in Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The Committee includes A S Micky Chairman JKCA; M L Nehru, General Secretary; Romesh Mahajan, Ashutosh Sharma and Jung Bahaudur.
The meeting decided to hold cricketing activities in both the regions at an earliest to give much time to budding cricketers for honing their skill and prepare themselves for the bigger events.
