MENDHAR, July 26: MLA Mendhar, Javed Ahmed Rana, has asked the district administration to equip itself to deal with natural disasters like floods and earthquakes.
Rana along with District Development Commissioner Poonch visited the flood affected areas of Chattral, Check Banola, Chungan, Narole, Banola and took stock of the damages. He said that State Government should declare Poonch and Rajouri districts as flood affected districts and take sustainable and futuristic course of action to tackle the natural calamities like flood, earthquakes, and other tsunamis.
He said that due to natural calamities the State of Jammu and Kashmir particularly Poonch and Rajouri districts have suffered a lot, and due to non constitution of Natural Disaster Management committee, no concrete works have been taken in hand to revoke the unwanted and uncharacteristic snubs in the area.
Rana asked the district administration to prepare a detail project report for permanent restoration of the area and meanwhile take preventive measure in hand without any delay.
