SAMBA, July 27: National Conference provincial president of Women Wing, Satwant Kaur Dogra today visited Samba and addressed party workers.
She said that NC is committed for equality of women at all levels be it political, educational, economic, technological or social empowerment and will continue to raise issues of discrimination and prejudice against womenfolk of the State.
She alleged that the present Government was not doing anything for womenfolk except providing lip service. She highlighted the plight of female students living in far flung areas and stressed that education in general and higher education in particular is insurance for women empowerment and called upon the Government to ensure equality at all levels.
Satwant Kour criticized BJP-PDP combine for failure on all fronts and said that benefits of Government schemes were not reaching the deserving poor womenfolk due to corruption and nepotism prevalent at all levels. She strongly condemned the imposition of additional tax on petrol /diesel and said that this move will increase the prices of consumer goods and commodities apart from hitting the industrial and construction sector.
Provincial joint secretary Rama Sambyal, Panch Neelam Devi, Suman Devi, Kamla Devi, Saroj Kumari, Dev Raj Kapoor, Sarpanch Suraj ParkashVerma and others were also present on the occasion.
