Jammu, July 27: Department of Cardiology, Government Medical College, Jammu today organized a day long workshop and Endovascular Procedures at Super Speciality Hospital. This was seventh workshop of its kind conducted at Department of Cardiology.
The workshop was conducted by leading faculty Dr. Matthew Francis Erickson (MBBS, FRACP) Consultant Cardiologist, Fiona Stanley Hospital, Palmeyra, Western Australia alongwith Dr. Sushil Kumar Sharma, Head Deptt of Cardiology GMC Jammu.
This workshop was organized to keep abreast with the latest in intervention cardiology particularly in field of endovascular interventions.
Dr Matthew Francis Erickson, is a high volume operator in Australia and expert in Complex Coronary Interve-ntions. He displayed his expertise in left main and bifurcation disease intervention and patients from Jammu were benefitted by his skills. Dr Sushil Kumar Sharma has been organizing workshops in different aspects of intervention cardiology and Department of Cardiology is already doing high volume intervention work and good number of complex coronary patients have already been treated in the department successfully.
“This workshop helped the department in enhancing the skills in field of Complex Coronary intervention and with the expertise of Matthew Francis Erickson, it was very rewarding for the patients suffering from these complex lesions,” Dr Sharma said.
