MENDHAR, July 29: Seven persons were injured as a Tata Sumo skidded into a gorge on Salwah road in Mendhar this evening.
Reports said the mishap took place at around 6 pm when the vehicle was on way to Salwah from Mendhar. Near Bera Kund, the driver lost control on the over loaded Sumo No. JK-12/1172 and it landed into a gorge, causing injuries to seven passengers.
All the injured were shifted to local hospital at Mendhar. They were identified as Shamim Akhtar, Shenaz Akhtar, Mohd Fazal, Mohd Aftab, Sakina Bi, Qamar Khursheed and Habib- ul- Rehman.
Condition of Sakina, Qamar and Habib was said to be serious and they were referred to GMC hospital Jammu. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
