JAMMU, July 30 On the 29th day of the ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra,  4695 more pilgrims  paid obeisance at the holy cave shrine on Thursday while a fresh batch of 558 Yatris left Jammu towards  Kashmir  for their onward pilgrimage.
According to an official spokesman, the total number of pilgrims, who have performed
Darshan at the cave shrine till today, has reached 3,11,990.  The pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of Shri Amarnathji is progressing smoothly on both  Baltal and Pahalgam routes, the spokesman added.
Meanwhile,  a fresh batch of 558 pilgrims,  comprising of  432 men, 74 women, two children and 50 Sadhus,  left in a motorcade of 16 vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar base camp here this morning  and reached Kashmir in the evening amid tight security.   With today’s batch, as many as 44,606 pilgrims have so far left from the Jammu base camp for the shrine.
Further, current registration of 863 more pilgrims was done today at Jammu for their onward journey to the Amarnath cave shrine. At Jammu Haat, 128 pilgrims were registered for pilgrimage from  Baltal route and 214 from  Pahalgam. Similarly, at Vaishnavi Dham, 217 were registered for Pahalgam route and 200 for Baltal track while  at Saraswati  Dham, 25 pilgrims were registered for Pahalgam route and 79 for Baltal route.
Meanwhile, Governor N  N  Vohra, who is also Chairman of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, today reviewed  progress of the ongoing Yatra and additional arrangements, if any, which may be required for ensuring a continuing smooth pilgrimage during Shravan which commences on August 1.
A meeting in this regard was held at the Raj Bhawan wherein  P K  Tripathi, Chief Executive Officer, and  Jitendra K  Singh, Additional CEO SASB informed the Governor that all the arrangements are in place to facilitate the Yatris till it concludes on August 29.
The Governor stressed the need for a daily review of cleanliness and sanitation, adequacy of essential supplies, health services etc  and reiterated the crucial importance of providing timely medical assistance to any pilgrim or service provider who falls ill or meets with an accident in the Yatra area.
The Governor also discussed the agenda of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board meeting which is scheduled to take place on July 31, 2015. The meeting is likely to be attended by the Board Members Dr  Devi Prasad Shetty, Dr  Kapila Vatsyayan,  Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Pt  Bhajan Sopori,  Prof Ved Kumari Ghai,  Sunita Narain,  Vijay Dhar,  D  C  Raina and Dr  Chander Mouli Raina. The Board will, interalia, discuss the arrangements made for bringing about improvements in the logistical and other arrangements for the pilgrimage.
