JAMMU, July 30: 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu M K Sharma today awarded two years RI to one Satinder Singh, who was facing trial in attempt to murder case for the last 11 years.
After hearing both the sides, court observed, “in the instant case, the injured sustained only two simple injuries. The convict faced the trial for more than eleven years. In this background, the convict is sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for one year and fine of Rs 2000 for the commission of offence under Section 307 RPC, imprisonment for one month for the commission of offence under Section 324 RPC and imprisonment for one year and fine of Rs.2000 for the commission of offence under Section 4/25 Arms Act”.
The sentences shall run concurrently, the court directed.
