This is for the second consecutive day that Pakistani troops violated ceasefire in North Kashmir.
Pakistani Rangers targeted Durga Post from their Doshat and Bakarwal posts across the Line of Control (LoC) in Macchil sector yesterday.
The exchange of gunfire between the Pakistan Rangers and the Army’s 5 Kumaon regiment started around 11:30 am and continued for over an hour.
Army deployed in the area also fired back at the Pakistani posts by small arms including mortars. There were no reports of any casualties on either side.
It may be mentioned here that early this month Pakistani troops violated ceasefire in Nowgam sector of the LoC killing two Border Security Force (BSF) men.
Reports said that Army’s 52 RR and Police arrested LeT militant Ashiq Qader Lone son of Ghulam Qader Lone of village Mirangund at Timepass Chowk in Sopore area. One pistol, one magazine, six pistol rounds and one UBGL grenade was recovered from his possession.
Earlier, security forces arrested the LeT militant behind the blast in a police vehicle in which a Pakistani under trial militant and a Police man were killed and four others were injured last month.
Army and Police apprehended a LeT militant, Ubaid Tariq Untoo in a vehicle check post established near Channa Khan, Sopore by the security forces two days ago.
