UDHAMPUR, Aug 2: An educational cum motivational tour was flagged off for the girl students of Drass region, from here today.
The tour comprises of Under-11 to Under-15 twenty girl students and four teachers.
Necessary administrative backup is being provided by the Army for complete duration of the tour.
During the tour, the students will be taken to Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Delhi, Jaipur, Ajmer, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri and Ambala.
The tour would give girl students a wider exposure to other States of India and educate them about the rich historical, religious, cultural and natural heritage of our country as also expose them to its scientific and technological progress.
The tour aims at instilling spirit of patriotism in the students and integrating them into the national mainstream.
In addition to sightseeing, the tour will motivate the children to excel in their studies, so as to avail better avenues and opportunities both inside and outside J&K.
Indian Army has been undertaking various goodwill activities under Project ‘Operation Sadbhavana’ to uplift the living standards of the people of remote areas and to win the hearts and minds of local population by its relentless pursuit to bring peace and tranquility in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
The flagging in ceremony of tour will be conducted on August 15, 2015 at Kargil.
