JAMMU, Aug 6: District Level Inter School competitions in the discipline of squay Martial Arts under all age group of boys and girls got underway at Indoor Hall M A Stadium, here today.
The tournament is being organised by the Department of Youth Services & Sports as a part of Annual Calendar of Sports Activities, under the supervision of Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu.
In Under-14 boys, the gold medal winners in below 25, 29, 33, 37, 41, 45 and Open categories included Paras Rajput of MRLD School, Gulshan Kumar of Govt. HS Burj Mandir, Sumit Singh of BMPC Makwal, Jaideep of BMPC Makwal, Ghansham Verma of Govt HS Burj Mandir, Gurdeep Singh of New Kiran Academy and Vishal Singh of BMPC Makwal respectively, while in Under-17 boys, the gold medals in various weight categories went to Harish Kumar of New Kiran Academy, Aman Sharma of New Kiran Academy, Abhishek of R.N Tagore Public School, Vipan of R.N Tagore Public School, Keshav Sharma of New Kiran Academy and Vishal Kumar of New Kiran Academy.
In Under-14 girls, below 35, 39, 41 and Open categories, the gold medals went to Taniya Manhas of New Kiran Academy, Ashanka of BMPC Makwal, Meena Kumari and Saniya Rajput of New Kiran Academy, while in Under-17 girls, the gold medals in various categories were claimed by Janvi Bhagat of BMPC Makwal, Diksha Devi of GHS Burj Mandir, Sapna Chib of BMPC Makwal and Shewety Devi of BMPC Makwal.
The matches were officiated by Varinder Sharma, Omekeshwar Sanyal, Divya and Ravinder Singh.
