Number of Amarnath pilgrims touches lowest

JAMMU, Aug 6: On the 36th day of the ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra, the number of pilgrims paying their obeisance at the holy cave shrine as well as those leaving Jammu Base Camp for their onward journey and Darshan, reached to lowest of this year.
Total 2618 Yatris paid obeisance at the cave shrine on Thursday while a batch of 235 devotees left Jammu for the pilgrimage amid tight security.
Till date 3, 33,507 pilgrims have paid obeisance at the cave shrine and the Yatra would culminate on August 29.
Meanwhile, amid tight security, a batch of 235 pilgrims today left Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp for the holy cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas. The batch, comprising of 175 men, 59 women and one child, left in a motorcade of five vehicles at 4:35 AM.
With today’s batch, as many as 47,073 pilgrims have so far left from the Jammu base camp for the shrine.
