JAMMU, Aug 8: Pallanwala police arrested a shopkeeper for selling illicit liquor in Kot Maira area, falling under the jurisdiction of Pallanwala police post.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Pallanwala police post conducted a raid in a shop at Kot Maira and recovered 20 pouches of illicit liquor.
The shopkeeper identified as Jaswant Singh Bhau, son of Narain Singh of Kot Maira was arrested on the spot.
The accused was running the trade of selling liquor for the past sometime and finally landed in police net today.
A case under FIR Number 52/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered against the accused at Khour police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Pallanwala police post SI Vishal Dogra made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Khour police station SI Mohammad Iqbal Chagatta, SDPO Akhnoor Naresh Singh and Incharge SSP Jammu Rajiv Pandey.
