There are many idle old buildings which are irreparable and unusable. These have become the abodes of snakes and other reptiles.
They come out some times in the school playgrounds and pose dangers to the lives of the students.
It happened many times in Government Girls High School, Gole Gujral Jammu.
Getting sanction for aunctioning of such buildings is a tedious job.
When the PWD authorities are informd about their dilapidated condition, they come to inspect these building as per their whims and convenience. After inspection, it takes them mmonths together to send reports.
Any how, when it is obtained, then case is sent to the concerned educational authority for sanction. Afterwards, the process of auctioning the building takes place which ntakes further time to take off.
In order to make it easier, the Education Minister should authorise all Chief Education Officers to collect information regarding such buildings and on the recommendations of the concerned drawing and disbursing officers, general sanctions be accorded.
