Bovines smuggling bids foiled, 3 arrested

RAMBAN, Aug 10: Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 11 milch animals and arresting three persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a police party from Gool police station intercepted a person carrying flock of bovines.
During questioning, the person failed to give satisfactory reply and was arrested for smuggling bovines to Valley by foot via Sarkentha/Katagi area. Police rescued 6 bovines and arrested the person, who has been identified as Maqsood Ahmed of Gool.
Meanwhile, police team from Sangaldhan police post established a naka at Gool—Ramban Link road and intercepted a Bolero vehicle bearing registration number JK19-1611.
During checking, police rescued 5 bovine animals and arrested the driver and his associate.
The accused has been identified as driver Bashir Ahmed, son of Fareed Ahmed of Kanga, Ramban and Abdul Aziz, son of Ibrahim Bohra of Dolligam Banihal.
In both the incidents, cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Gool police station and investigation started.
The arrests were made by SHO Gool police station Inspector Sunil Arya and Incharge police post Sangaldhan SI Parvez Khandey under the supervision of DySP Operations Gool Vipan Chandran and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
