JAMMU, Aug 12:As part of the Independence Day celebration the Nowshera Brigade organized the Independence Day Half Marathon, today.
In addition to the Half Marathon the event also included a cross country event for children and the “Independence Day Run for Fun” for children from the border villages in area of responsibility under the Nowshera Brigade.
The 5 km Independence Run for Fun saw an enthusiastic participation of the children who turned up in large no for the event and made it a resounding success.
Around 100 children participated in the Run for Fun. In addition to this 27 boys ran the cross country and 25 boys took part in the Half Marathon.
Commander Nowshera Brigade distributed prizes among the winners in various categories.
He emphasized on the significance of sports in our lives and asked the youth and the children to inculcate a spirit of “Patriotism” and love for the country.
