JAMMU, Aug 13: Outplaying KC International School by 9 wickets in the summit clash, KC Public School lifted the title trophy of the Hyundai Inter-School Indoor Cricket Tournament at KC Sports Club, here today.
The teams were played as per the rules of Indoor Cricket prevalent in the world today. Both the teams played the match with great zeal.
Earlier, KC International School won the toss and decided to bat first.
Batting first, KC International School scored 24 runs in 9 overs. Yuvraj and Raj scored 4 and 2 runs respectively.
In reply, K C Public School chased the target of 25 in 3.5 overs and won the match by 9 wickets. Tazeem scored 9 runs for his side and Hrithik made 1 run.
Meanwhile YSCE coaches selected 6 budding cricketers from different Schools to get free of cost coaching from Yuvraj Singh Cricket Academy. They include Abhinandan Sharma from Blue Bird Public School, Umar Sadiq from K C International School, Amrit Daksh from St. Xavier School, Agastya from Project Model School, Kunal from Naveen Shiksha Kender and Hrithik Raina from K C Public School.
The final match was played in the air-conditioned indoor Cricket Hall with 9 pitches, 5 fast and 4 spin pitches with surface of 16000sq. ft. The Tiger Turf surface imported from New Zealand and is ideally suited for both pace and spin bowling as well as for batting. Automatic Bola bowling machine is also available for batting practice.
At the end of the match players practices with the bola bowling machine to improve their reflexes under the supervision of YSCE coaches.
