JAMMU, Aug 17: The displaced persons from Pak occupied Jammu and Kashmir today held strong protest demonstration in support of their long pending demands at Press Club near old Tawi bridge here today.
A large number of displaced persons from Deva Batala, Chhamb, Bhimber, Mirpur, Kotli, Bagh, Plundari and Muzaffrabad under the banner of PoJK DPs Front- 1947, 1965 and 1971, led by its president Capt Yudhvir Singh Chib assembled at Press Club near Exhibition Ground and started protest demonstration. A large number of women activists also joined the protest.
The protesters were carrying banners and placards depicting their demands. They were also shouting slogans in support of their demands.
Earlier, Capt Yudhvir Singh Chib hoisted National Flag at the venue and all the people sang National Anthem. They all paid rich tributes to national heroes. Capt Chib also addressed the gathering and strongly criticized  the State and Central Government for not resolving the pending issue of the displaced persons from PoJK. He alleged that Government was adopting delaying tactics and forcing displaced persons to come out on the roads.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Jai Pal Sharma, R P Singh, Sakandya Devi, Kulbir Singh Chib, Kuldip Singh and others.
