KC International students prepare models

JAMMU, Aug 19:  The students of Grade III at KC International School worked on the lines of project method which forms a part of IB curriculum.
This method aims at teaching the children with a lot of practical activities.
They first prepared models in the school alongwith their teachers. They made the model of a zoo, an aquarium, a bird’s nest, a spider’s web and a beehive. They spoke about the homes of animals and about some of their habitats. They also experimented writing with a quill and ink in the class.
A guest lecture was also arranged for the students to teach them to care of the pets. Dr. Abhimanyu Chauhan a veterinary surgeon working at the Animal Husbandry Department, Jammu spoke to the children and guided them on how to take care of the pets. He said that a pet should be treated as a family member.
He briefed the children upon the food habits of pets and their vaccinations. He stressed that pets also needs companionship so the family members must spend some quality time with their pets. The students also asked questions to the doctor.
At the end of the session the students spoke and expressed whatever they had gained from the guest lecture. Principal, Maya Mishra thanked Dr Abhimanyu for briefing the students and telling them about the care of pets. Kesar Patel, Headmistress presented a vote of thanks.
