Separatists losing relevance: Sethi

JAMMU, Aug 23: With the tough stand on NSA -level talks taken by Narendra Modi led NDA  Government, a clear message has now gone to the Pakistan and the world community that the present Government at New Delhi will not allow terrorism and its supporters to grow.
BJP chief spokesperson Sunil Sethi, while addressing a press conference at Party Headquarters here today along with State spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, said that the tough stand taken by GoI on NSA-level talks has made it clear that separatists cannot be given undue importance and they should remain in their limit. He said that the Indian government wanted to discuss terrorism with Pakistan but unfortunately Pakistan, as past practice,   preferred to invite separatist leaders before talks with India with a motive of making them relevant. But seeing through their game plan this time it did not happen and therefore both Pakistan and separatists are frustrated.
Mr Sethi said that the separatists are not public representatives but handful of people with almost no influence and they are confined to few streets of Kashmir, who support terrorism and work on dictates from across the border. “With each passing day, the separatists are losing their relevance and moreover they do not have any representative character”, he added.
He said that gone are the days when Pakistan used to involve separatists in all matters and the Central Governments did not oppose. Both, Pakistan and separatists, should now understand that  BJP-led Government will not allow this to happen.
Sunil Sethi, while commenting on the recent decision of coalition Government on power sector, said that the Amnesty scheme is indeed a good decision as it will benefit lakhs of consumers in the State.
