Bringing shrines of Doda, Kishtwar on pilgrimage map demanded

KISHTWAR, Aug 23: Congress leader and member civil society Kishtwar Shamsher Singh Bhandari today demanded that the religious shrines of Kishtwar and Doda be brought on pilgrimage map of the country and steps be taken to promote pilgrimage tourism in the twin districts.
Addressing the meeting of civil society here, he said that Kishtwar has many ancient shrines and the Government should take steps for bringing them on pilgrimage map of the country and promote the pilgrimage on the pattern of Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine to boost the economy of the people of the twin districts.
He said the steps be taken in this regard and round the year pilgrimage to these shrines be encouraged by creating facilities for the pilgrims enroute. He said there is lot of potential for encouraging round the year  pilgrimage for the shrines of Chandi Mata, Machail Mata, Kailash Kund,  Sarthal Mata and  many other famous shrines in the twin districts by  making it a pilgrimage circuit.
