LEH, Sept 2: The Special Olympics Bharat (SOB) J&K organized three days District Tournament for disabled children in Leh today. The event was supported by District Police Leh, Army and DIC and other volunteers.
Different NGOs working for the welfare of differently abled people including Pagir, Rewa and Musel participated in the event today.
District Police Chief Dr Sunil Gupta was the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Dr Gupta expressed delight over such tournament being held in Leh for the first time and said that such games help the student to participate at National, International level thus getting exposure and expressed gratitude to introducing the Tournament in Leh and added that such attempt helps them to make the children more special.
SOB J&K President Dr.Ashwani Jojra said that such is being held almost in the entire J&K State to explore the potential of specially abled children to groom them to shine at National and International level event.
On occasion, DIC General Manager Tsering Angmo was nominated as Special Olympics Bharat District Leh president.
Dy SP Nawang Tsering and District Youth Services and Sports Officer Rashid also spoke on the occasion.
On the occasion the differently abled children presented cultural programme also.
