KATHUA, Sept 7: The Annual Sewan Dangal (Wrestling Competition) was organized today in the premises of Aap-Sambhu Lord Mahadev Temple,Seswan near Kathua.
The Annual Seswan Dangal was organized by Master Kewal Krishan Sangra, who has been organizing Seswan Dangal since last several years out of his own resources.
Dr Bharat Bhushan,Chief Executive Officer, Lakhanpur Sarthal Develpoment Authority, Prof. Ram Krishan Sharma, Station House officer, Rajbagh, Sarpanches, Panches and other prominent persons of the area participated in the Dangal festivities. Yogesh Singh Sarpanch and Sat Paul Sangra of Seswan assisted in organizing Dangal.
The wrestlers from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh & J&K participated in the competition. Some wrestlers who has represented at National level also took part in wrestling. The exent was marked by around fifty wrestling competitions in which the wrestlers showed their vigour & talent. The enthusiastic crowds were on their toes when Munnu Pehalwan of Delhi defeated Bhupinder Pehlwan of Ajnala-Punjab. He was awarded thirty thousands by the organisors.
Speaking on the occasion Bhushan said that wrestling promotes good health & keeps youth away from bad habits. He later honoured organiser Master Kewal Krishan Sangra, Refree of the event Sardari Lal – a National Level Refree who represents Country outside also and main winner of the Dangal -Munnu Pahalwan of Delhi.
The organisers presented shawals to 125 senior citizens on the occasion.
