JAMMU, Sept 7: All India Backward Classes Union (AIBCU) has expressed its dismay over the claims of Union Government in providing justice to down -trodden and poor and ending discrimination with various marginalized sections of the society.
In a statement issued here, today, it said though OBCs in the State had pinned high hopes in Narendra Modi led Government that it will impress upon the State coalition to end the decades old discrimination with the OBCs of the State by implementing Mandal Commission report in letter and spirit to provide the benefits of social justice to all it has failed to take any step in this regard.
The AIBCU Which met here under the leadership of its president Abdul Majid said that the present coalition in the State proved no different for them so far as implementation of Mandal Commission recommendations are concerned. The community has been running from pillar to post for justice for last over 25 years but to no avail as the State Government taking undue advantage of the Article 370 is sabotaging the cause of these hapless people who constitute a big chunk of State’s population.
The meeting which among others was addressed by general secretary of the Union, Prof. Kali Dass has made an appeal to both Prime Minister of the country and Chief Minister of the State to look into this genuine issue and provide justice to OBCs of the State in case they really mean that benefits of democracy should reach to the people at grass root level.
